In Loving Memory Toshie Seto Pidgeon February 4, 1924- June 22, 2009

This past Monday evening Mark's sweet mother, Toshie Pidgeon was called home to our Heavenly Father. She had battled many illnesses for many years including Parkinson's and dementia and did so with great dignity. Mom and I became very close and I am very fortunate to know that she considered me the daughter she had not been able to have. I will miss her sweet laughter, her kind gentle manner, and my Sushi partner. She loved Mark and was very proud of him and what he has done in his life.  Although she never got the opportunity to meet all of the new grand children and great grandchildren she inherited after Mark and I married, she took on this role with a great deal of pride. One of our most cherrished memories was last year before our wedding. Heather was fortunate enough to be able to fly out with Taylor her youngest duaghter; not quite 8 weeks at that time.  Her brother Brian and sister-in-law Shalee; almost 7 months pregnant with their first were also able to attend. We all headed up to the Adult Family Home where momma was living so she could finally meet the kids face-to-face. We all gathered in her room and after a little chit-chat, Heather placed Taylor in Great Grandma's arms. Momma was in heaven. She talked and cooed to Taylor, sometimes in Japanese, and then Taylor reached up with one tiny little hand and placed it ever so softly on Momma's cheek keeping it there for what seemed to be the longest time. Unfortunately I don't believe any of us ever got a picture of it. Maybe it was because we were all too busy burning the picture into our own personal picturebooks in our minds.
There are many things that I will hold dear to my heart and miss about my sweet mother-in-law, but as sure as I know that the sun will set and the moon will rise, we will one day meet again.
Until that day Momma we will do our best to always make you proud of us.
We love you!
