It is hard to believe that it is already the 23rd of January. I swear the time goes faster and faster the older I get...and today I am feeling pretty darn old.
The weather here in Washington has been pretty typical Washington weather, and I hate it! Grey, cloudy, some days cold some days not so cold, and no winter to speak of so far this year. At least last year it snowed a lot! Oh well complaining doesn't make it change, just makes me have an even nastier attitude I suppose.
I am struggling with the blues right now. We finally received word yesterday that the position that Mark has been interviewing for these past 4 months was given to the other candidate...sigh. I know life could be worse, he could be out of work, or found out that he was being laid off, or worse I suppose, but we put a lot of hope, or I put a lot of hope into him getting this position with Microsoft...but it was just not to be. Oh well... life goes on doesn't it.
I did receive exciting news last night. My youngest nephew called from Hawaii, where he just moved, to say that he is engaged. His fiance, Christy, moved back home to Hawaii last October after receiving her Masters in education. Patrick received his BA in Health Administration, I believe, around the same time. He decided to follow her there the first of the year and last night he popped the big question...she said YES! WOOOHOOOO!!! We are all so happy for them, not to mention we get to go to Hawaii sometime for a wedding! Loving it!
So like I told my daughter Heather, every day is a blessing, and some days are even greater blessings, we just have to look for them.
It is time for me to look harder at the blessings in my life and be greatful for all that I have, I could be in Haiti and have nothing.
Life is a series of mountains and valleys. They all can have spectacular views, or incredible challenges to get through...today my valley is a little flooded...but the sun will eventually come out and the waters will subside allowing the wild flowers to bloom.
My love to all.
